Hello fellow couchsurfers! I'm Sarah, and I'm very new to this & still kind of figuring it out :)
I'm 26 years old, and my best friend Melanie & I just recently quit our jobs to fulfill our wanderlust & backpack the US for 4 months :) And we are beyond excited!
We chose not to take a vehicle with us on this journey, so we will be bussing, hiking, & ride sharing. We are so excited to have tons of adventures & meet lots of new friends!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always believed that the single most important thing in life is people, and the relationships you share with them. While on this 4-month backpacking adventure with my best friend, I am very much looking forward to meeting and getting to know lots of new friends from all around :)

Interests

I'm into photography, scrapbooking, baking, beach trips, live music, cardio kickboxing, & all kinds of outdoor adventures

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste varies a lot, just like most people. Anything from indie to reggae to classic rock to blues to alternative rock to EDM.
A few random favorites would be Tom Petty, Jimi Hendrix, Joshua Radin, Lord Huron, The National, alt-J, Sublime, & Rolling Stones. I'm also a huge sucker for '90s music!
A few of my favorite movies are The Air I Breathe, Dirty Dancing, Comet, 500 Days of Summer, Elf, & Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
I love short stories & poems. My favorite book is "No One Belongs Here More Than You" by Miranda July.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was a full-time traveling volunteer with AmeriCorps NCCC during most of 2011, and was privileged enough to have been able to learn about and participate in 3 different types of disaster relief: tornado, flood, & wildfire. I am hoping to do more of this on my upcoming travels!
