About Me
***Please read whole profile! I'll know if you haven't :)
***I don't host (cisgender) men. Nothing personal, but rape culture is a real thing y'all.
Hello there! I'm a 38 year old queer disabled cis woman multidisciplinary writer, educator, community organizer. I haven't done any big backpacking trips in quite a few years, because after my year long New Zealand and Southeast Asia excursion I moved to Minnesota, and then New York City, where I lived for five years, doing a number of interesting projects and activism and civil disobedience and odd jobs.
I then went to Laramie, Wyoming to study poetry and creative non-fiction at the University of Wyoming's MFA program, where I also minored in queer and race studies.
After that, I lived in Boston for three years while I completed an MA in American Studies, and then I moved to Maine to teach at a private school while finishing a master's in secondary social studies teaching. I now live in Auburn, Maine, with my partner, Jess, and my two guinea pigs, and I teach nearby. We just moved into a house, and we're still getting settled, so we're not ready to host yet (and she's never couch-surfed before, so she's still warming up to the idea!) — but I'm happy to meet up with people, schedules allowing!
I'm an introvert, but I'm a very enthusiastic and friendly one. I love sharing meals, ideas, questions, and conversation with new people.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For people to meet-up!:
Must be queer/LGBTQ friendly, anti-Trump, and anti-racist. ZERO WHITE SUPREMACISTS/NEO-NAZIS. Must believe COVID is real, and have gotten vaccinated. I have long covid because of getting it 4 times, so I can't be around anti-vaxxers for my actual physical safety.
When you message me to ask me to let me host you, please write "fuck/down with white supremacy" somewhere in the message so I know you read the whole thing :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've surfed lots of times, hosted once (but happy to host again if the time is right!) -zero negative experiences, only purely lovely and fascinating ones. I want help keep the CS revolution alive! And I love meeting new people and exchanging ideas.
