ABOUT ME I'm quietly, but constantly, restless. When I happen upon train tracks or ferry ports my muscles tense up, my hands shake a little. I am a hopeless romantic and a heartless critic. This duality makes life interesting. And difficult. The difficulty makes the interest. I think I stole the idea from Herman Hesse. Wasting time scares the shit out of me. I suppose that is connected to the restlessness. Power is beautiful and weakness a wretch to be avoided. Learning German is high on my bucket-list. Potential is perfect. So I tend to keep things from entering a kinetic state. Or I shove them down a hill, tumbling toward a brick wall where they will smash, expelling all their energy at once. I suppose this is the duality again. I am pompous. I admit it though. Does that make it more or less acceptable? One should know that I often wear a half-smile, one side curling, the other remaining unaffected by muscle contraction. The above should be read in this context.
