About Me

I teach behavioral and complexity economics at the University of Tehran. My work lives somewhere between psychology, economics, and systems thinking. I am fascinated by how humans make decisions in messy, uncertain worlds.

Outside academia, I am an entrepreneur. I run two lifestyle brands: Nutrise, which develops functional nutritional gels, and Humage, a men’s care and cosmetics brand. I love building things that move from ideas to real products people can use.

I am curious about psychedelics in therapeutic and meaningful contexts, and I support thoughtful microdosing practices. I care about exploration, but with responsibility and reflection.

I have a huge passion for theatre, documentary and docudrama filmmaking, pragmatism, and literature. If academia is my profession and entrepreneurship is my experiment, theatre is probably my long-term love.

I enjoy deep conversations, alternative ways of learning, and people who are building something, questioning something, or becoming something.

Also: I am a big fan of kink-themed festivals and spaces that explore freedom, aesthetics, and consent culture with maturity and intelligence.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m here to meet like-minded people and build real, meaningful connections. Not just quick encounters, but conversations that linger and friendships that last.

For me, traveling is not about ticking places off a list. It’s about living a place from the inside. Sharing meals, stories, walks, music, ideas. Seeing a city through someone’s eyes who actually belongs to it.

I’m also here for the carpe diem spirit. The spontaneous dinner that turns into a 4-hour discussion. The unexpected invitation. The unplanned adventure. The moments that weren’t scheduled but become unforgettable.

Life is short. I’d rather experience it fully, with people who are curious, open, and alive.

Music, Movies, and Books

Literature

I have a deep love for poetry, especially Persian poetry. Mehdi Akhavan Sales holds a special place in my heart. I adore reading his poems aloud in small circles of friends. There’s something about the rhythm and gravity of his words that comes alive when spoken.

I also love Nosrat Rahmani, Ali Babachahi, Ahmadreza Ahmadi, Reza Baraheni, and of course the Persian classics like Hafez.

Beyond poetry, I am a huge admirer of Milan Kundera. Immortality might be the most profound blend of literature and philosophy I’ve ever read. I also deeply value works like One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Death of Ivan Ilyich, Zorba the Greek, and novels by Carlos Fuentes. Theatre theory fascinates me too, especially Jerzy Grotowski’s Poor Theatre.

Cinema

I’m quite picky when it comes to film. I don’t enjoy most of what I watch. But when something hits, it stays with me for years.

Samsara is probably the most powerful cinematic experience I’ve ever had. I also deeply appreciate Michael Haneke, Giuseppe Tornatore, Theo Angelopoulos, and Abbas Kiarostami. I’m drawn to films that are contemplative, existential, and visually poetic.

Music

My taste moves between electronic atmospheres and Persian tradition.

I love electronic music with a synth and ambient vibe. Psytrance, atmospheric electronic sounds, and Jean-Michel Jarre’s work resonate with me deeply.

At the same time, Persian traditional music is essential to me. Jalil Shahnaz’s solo tar pieces, Mohammadreza Lotfi, Shahram Nazeri, and certain fusion works by Mohsen Namjoo and Hafez Nazeri are close to my heart. And when I want something lighter and playful, Bomrani always works.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve survived a PhD, a war, and a domestic massacre. That sentence alone carries more than I can write here. But I’m still here.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach
I teach behavioral and complexity economics at the university level, so I’m always happy to share ideas about strategic decision-making, bounded rationality, heuristics, and how complex systems can be modeled and understood. If you enjoy thinking about how humans actually make decisions, or how simple rules can survive in messy worlds, we’ll have fun conversations.

Beyond academia, I can also share practical entrepreneurial experience. I’ve gone through the process of registering brands and companies, working with contract manufacturers, designing products from scratch, and navigating the chaos of turning an idea into something real.

Learn
I’m endlessly curious about how other people see the world. Your worldview, your taste in art, your political perspective, your scientific interests, your obsessions. I genuinely enjoy listening to how someone thinks and what shaped them.

Share
Long dinners, slow walks, poetry readings, music sessions, spontaneous debates, silence when needed. I like exchanging more than information. I like exchanging perspectives.
