About Me

Update as on June 2025— Shifted to Bangalore !

Writing about myself is probably one of the hardest things for me, but I’ll give it a try.

Hi, I’m Sarath Sasi — you can call me Sarath. I was born and brought up on the southwest coast of India, in Kerala (often referred to as “God’s Own Country”). I’m a Physics graduate with a Master’s in Business Administration, and I currently work as a Risk Analyst at a fintech startup.

I’m 33 and single. I mostly live alone, unless friends or cousins come over to visit. I enjoy driving, and if you happen to visit over a weekend, I’d love to take you on a drive through the villages around Bangalore.

Cooking is therapeutic for me — I genuinely enjoy preparing meals and sharing them with friends and family. I used to read quite a lot, but somewhere along the way I lost that habit. I’m now trying to gradually get back into reading.

I guess that’s enough about me! If I keep going, I might just cross that thin line into boasting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’ve been using Couchsurfing for almost 8 years now. I’ve met so many different people from different countries, different cultures, with varied cultural perspectives. Meeting different people made me more receptive to varied ideologies, different outlooks etc. I got to meet solo travellers, hitchhikers, backpackers, nudists, loners etc.. all thanks to Couchsurfing.
