Hi Friends,

My name is Sheker and I am originally from a far away land Turkmenistan, located in the heart of Central Asia. For the past five years, I lived in Boston, Massachusetts. In August 2016, I moved to Canada, precisely Vancouver to pursue my second degree. I am majoring in Asian Area Studies and minoring in International Relations.

I am a very friendly person with a good sense of humour. I enjoy reading, exploring different cultures and learning about people's traditions. I love meeting new people and getting to know them. I believe every person is a teacher and has something to learn from. I also enjoy meaningful conversations over a glass of wine and at the same time I love being goofy. I let a child inside me go crazy. Haha.

In the future, I want to be in academia and become a professor at a University. I am very passionate about equal opportunity and education in the parts of the world where it is not accessible.
