About Me

On my honeymoon road trip through the West Coast, British Columbia, and Mid-West with my hubby and puppy!
*fully vaccinated*
I have stayed with 54 CS hosts in 17 different countries! And have visited 27 countries since 2016. Hosted 8 couchsurfers in 3 countries from 3 countries.

I have fallen in-love with traveling, and do not plan to stop anytime soon! The road is my home. Love the outdoors, nature, hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, camping, surfing, fitness, jiu jitsu, etc.

Currently in: USA

I am a Mechanical Engineer who loves to learn through experience. So I love learning and experiencing new things and am very open minded! I studied abroad in Metz France for 4 months and traveled for an extra month. I also did a 5.5 month backpacking trip through Africa and Europe after I graduated from Georgia Tech. After I started working, I took a month off to travel through Japan and Vietnam :).

I love the environment and outdoor activities such as hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, etc! I love to build and create things! For me, Couchsurfing is about getting to know the place by discovering the culture and way of living of the locals, as well as getting to know different people around the world! It's not about a free place to stay, it's about new experiences I wouldn't be able to have without meeting these awesome people! I love chill/peaceful vibes ✌️

I no longer use social media but I used to have an Instagram travel blog @siena_knight

"If the opportunity doesn't knock, build a door."
"If you're not weird, you're boring."
"Anything is possible under the right conditions."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new ppl, explore new places, and experience different cultures. I strive to vibe with chill/peaceful nature as well as exciting / unpredictable energetic nature. I love anyone from an artist to an entrepreneur :P

Interests

BRIEF LIST:
Art, fitness / working out, dance, engineering, exploring, inventing, environment, animals, outdoor activities, philanthropy, experiencing new things! And of course, I love traveling!
I am the type of person who would spend an entire day soaking in nature: hiking, meditating, exploring, hammocking, painting, building. Super hands-on. Love science, sci-fi, engineering, art, etc.

MORE INVOLVED LIST:
I love painting, drawing, and sculpting. I have just gotten into metal art (welding metal together to make sculptures). And I just got a Plasma cutter for Christmas from my dad (RIP)!

I love being out in nature and meditating or doing yoga. I enjoy experiencing different cultures and seeing new places. I love being outdoors and absolutely love nature and all of the animals that live in it. I grew up right next to the water (chesapeake bay) and in the woods, so I love water sports, fishing, and hiking.

I volunteered at a place called the Invention Studio for 4 years. There, I had a mastery of all of the machinery and equipment such as 3D printing, metal working, and woodworking equipment. As well as laser cutting, milling, lathing, and waterjetting. My job there was to teach users how to use the equipment and in a safe manner. I really enjoy working there and making awesome things !

As a child I was a ballerina. But when I grew older I started getting into street dancing such as breakdance and hip-hop dance. I am now a choreographer in hip-hop dance! I am now getting into latino dancing such as bachata!

Volunteering is a big part of my life. I absolutely love partaking in community service. My most memorable service projects have been those when I built or rebuilt homes for people who are in need or have been devastated by a natural disaster.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camino de Santiago Portuguese! Walked 150 Km

Slept under the stars in the Sahara Desert, Morocco

Stayed in the homes of local Berber and Arab families in villages of Morocco during and after Ramadan. And fasted like the locals for a period of time.

Rafted down the Aare river with my couchsurfing host in Bern, Switzerland!

Saw the entire city at a barbecue on top of Rodolfo's roof in Barcelona until nighttime!

Almost died in Hallstatt Austria by nearly falling off of the mountain while hiking!

Broke my foot longboarding while on a road trip in Ithaca, NY, USA. Required me to settle down there for a while :)

Sprained my ankle bouldering in the U.P. upper Michigan.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a very open person and love learning. I learn best through experience, and I love sharing said experiences with others! I want to know about your culture and experience it first-hand. Food, stories, music, dance, art, behaviors, etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cultural or home-made gifts.... Help cooking or cleaning... Other? But I would love to share an awesome day exploring with a host! Maybe paint you a picture :) Also, will write you a nice and accurate reference.
