CURRENT MISSION To wander the globe in search of community, friendship, experiance, and beauty. ABOUT ME I just spent the last 9 months in New Orleans with several hundred of the most amazingly generous people I've ever know cooking 3 meals a day for huricane survivors. I had the blessed fortune of getting to sleep in a tent in a disaster zone, in an off-track betting business parking lot, and watch love between strangers blossom every day. The name of the project was the Made with Love Cafe and you can check it out at www.emergencycommunities.org. If you're looking for a powerful and rewarding experiance learning to help you fellow sister and brother overcome devastation, this is a great opportunity. And just for the record, as of 7/28/06, almost a full year after Katrina, I would take a guess based soley on what I saw with my own eyes before leaving the city, that at least 75% of the homes in St. Bernard Parish Louisianna are still completely unlivable, and many families are still don't have reliable access to food and water (especially water). Food for thought on our disaster response team.... GO FEMA!! PHILOSOPHY Stop worrying about having a life and realize you are life!!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I've been couchsurfing/traveling for years. And at the times when I have an empty couch in my home, it's almost always open to friendly, honest people.
Music, Movies, and Books
I've recently been extremely moved by a book by Eckhart Tolle called "The Power of Now". I can't wait to read more of his work. But really I read for pleasure whenever I have a spare moment. I'm one of those people who always has a book or two in my bag. I'd rather make music with other people than listen to a recording. I rarely get the chance to watch movies these days, though I do like anything that makes me laugh or think.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Is there anything about life that isn't amazing... from climbing a mountain in Tibet to washing dishes for a disaster relief kitchen in New Orleans, everything has it's beauty.
Teach, Learn, Share
Breathe Deep and Seek Peace for this moment is the only thing that matters. When couch surfing remember to take showers as frequently as can be accomodated. Most people will take to you better if you smell fresh :)
My Interests
I'm interested in questioning, learning, examining, expressing, conversing, singing, dancing, traveling (duh), painting, writing, climbing big rocks, camping in the mountains, reading everthing I can get my hands on, watching the beauty around me pass through it's continuous evolution. Maybe I should say I find interest in most things.
