About Me

Hi, I’m Karolina – an occasional traveler, an entrepreneur on a mission, and a woman who follows her heart. Business? Yes, yes, yes – but only if it’s ethical. That’s why I help creative people – photographers, interior designers, graphic artists, illustrators – build their brands online in a way that lets them show their talents and sell their services without pushing or using manipulative tricks.

I believe that one of the very few things truly worth “buying” are services – experiences, expertise, and knowledge. These are the things that can make our lives richer, easier, and more beautiful. I’m strongly against buying cheap stuff from Temu or Shein – products that harm the environment and promise to fill an emptiness… an emptiness that only we ourselves – or a real connection with another human being – can ever truly fill.

I’m a very sensitive and emotional person – I laugh, I cry, I get moved easily. I used to think it was “too much,” but now I know that it’s actually my strength. Thanks to that, I understand people deeply and can support them in discovering their own value. I do have big ambitions, but I’m learning to live without pressure – with more gentleness and presence in everyday life.

I share my life with Michał – my fiancé, a programmer, the smartest person I know, and my “tree”: he grounds me, wraps me in his arms, and gives me a sense of safety. We’ve been together for over 10 years and have a beautiful, supportive relationship.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

i'm looking for new inspirious people and i want to know more about their culture and everyday life.

Interests

I love cooking and I love eating even more 😋 Most of the time I eat vegetarian, though I do have fish sometimes. For me, food is one of the reasons why souls come back to earth – to taste, to experience, to enjoy textures and flavors.

My big dream is to write a book – but first, I want to really live and collect stories. Who knows, maybe meeting you will inspire one of them?

I love discussing all kinds of topics – even with people I disagree with. I often listen to news and opinions from “the other side,” just to understand better and to remind myself that we are not enemies – it’s just the old “divide and rule” trick. Still, that doesn’t mean we can ever justify wars, genocide, or attacks.

Music, Movies, and Books

I won’t be very original when I say that I love books like Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, Fresh Water for Flowers (La vie en violette) by Valérie Perrin, Just Kids by Patti Smith, and The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera.

I also adore reportage: Z miłości? To współczuję. Stories from Oman and Briefly and Happily. Stories of Late Loves by Agata Romaniuk, as well as 27 Deaths of Toby Obed by Joanna Gierak-Onoszko.

But my absolute favorite is a story about… animals – yes, yes – Extraordinary Insects: The Wonderful World of Insects and Why We Can’t Live Without Them by Anne Sverdrup-Thygeson (in Polish: Ekipa do naprawy świata). And I’m still hunting for her book about bugs 😄

Besides that, I also read books on business, marketing, and personal growth – you know exactly the kind I mean 😉

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I survived a home renovation – just kidding!
I started my own company in Poland – okay, also kidding.

The real amazing thing? I’m about to do it – I’m flying to Australia 🌏 My very first trip that far, to the other side of the globe. I’m scared… and that’s exactly why I’m doing it! 🚀

Teach, Learn, Share

Honestly? I’m not sure if we can really “teach” anyone anything. Let’s just meet and… you’ll see! 😉

What I do know is that I love learning from others. I enjoy discovering new perspectives and realizing that I live in a kind of “box” – shaped by my culture, family, experiences. It’s comfortable in some ways, but what if I could stretch that box a little?

That’s exactly what I’d love to learn from you – how the world looks from your point of view.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’d be happy to cook something for you – just let me know if you’d like that. I know some people feel it’s a bit intrusive to have someone in their kitchen, so please just be honest with me.

Besides that… I can share stories about Poland. It’s a really fascinating country with a long history and huge transformations in recent years.
