About Me

Looking to launch myself into moving to NYC, a place I have never been before... but then again, thats never stopped me before..

O I am such a nerd. Really. hahaha The best date I ever went on involved renting a hotel room off this island so me and a bf at the time could watch the cartoon network and eat pizza. I spend most of my spare time reading, sketching, or having a pint and good conversation with a friend. I cant cook for the life of me, but I have a knack for finding good carry out wherever I go.

I believe in God. I consider myself a Christian. HOWEVER! I do not agree with alot of the pushy christian crap I see going on now days and I just might convert to Pastafarianism. http://venganza.org if you want more info on that. I have some how lived a rather charmed existance despite alot of things that I could have let hold me back. Peace and love and all that jazz are nice, but to a point. I love Fight Club and violent video games. I believe in being nice to animals because it's not their fault people think they are tasty and it's just as much *if not more* their space than ours. Um.. ramble ramble ramble..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well... when I was 15 things at home were less than stellar. Actually, it was not really a good place for a kid to be. So my aunt offered me a place to crash with her on Mackinac island, from there I went on to live with other realatives in WA by Seattle, and then to CO to live with my dad by Denver. All this before I was 18. I dont regret anything and firmly believe in tossing yourself into new surroundings every now and then because it forces you to grow as a person. I've lived with people I've barely known who have become some of my closest friends. And at one point I lived in my best friend's walk in closet. *Caleb if you ever see this, thanks again* So yea.. I guess my vintage pink suitcases have always felt more like a home than just one location.

I love trying new things. Painting, sketching, making colorful messes that ultimately will ruin my jeans.. I'm vegan and I love animals. And I have a severe case of location ADD and no desire to really change that. hehe

Music, Movies, and Books

Wow. I feel compelled to have a disclaimer: This is no where near a full list. Nowhere. haha

Movies: Breakfast at Tiffany's, Donnie Darko, The Royal Tennenbaums.. just to name a few

Music: Van Morrison, Thrice, Lisa Loeb..

Books: I'll just list what 3 I'm reading now: Fresh Lipstick, The Reluctant Metrosexual, and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Made the choice to move out of my mom's house. By far that changed my life in so many ways. I grew to have alot more self respect and stopped second guessing myself nearly as much as I used to. When you are given the oppourtunity to decide what you do with your life at such a young age it really helps you put who you want to be in perspective.
