Overview
About Me
Hi everybody, here it’s Sonia, from Sicily, Italy.
After my degree in Sociology, I moved to South and Central America where I spent 4 years travelling, volunteering, working and living life in all its curious and amazing aspects.
Once I came back to Italy, I started to cook for retreat focusing on yoga, art, massage and personal growth. So, taking care about what they are eating is part of the process. Every time I feel like giving to the people not just something to nourish their stomach, but also their soul.
My goal is to use food as a medicine. For now I don't have this kind of knowledge at all. For this reason now Im in India because I would like to learn about Ayurveda food and bring this philosophy into my approach. Its going to be a gift for me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because is the best way to travel. Travel for me means meeting people and create friendship. Im not the kind of person that stay in a Hotel, going at the restaurant for every meal and seeing the most turistic spot. I love sharing my time with local people and trying to get the rithm of the place.
If not, why travelling?

Music, Movies, and Books
If I have to be honest, I prefere dont see movie or listening music while Im alone. I prefere listening the silence or the nature sound. We live in a period were the music is in everywhere and without stopping and it makes me be confused.
Anyway, when Im not alone I listen all kind of music but I don't stand raggeton.
About book.......it depends of the period. It goes from literature to spirituality, depends what I need.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, being born, breathing, growing up, studing, having responsability, leaving my city, traveling, having a backpacker as a house, recognizing my mistake, working on myself, keeping calm, accepting life, laughing, feeling compassion, allowing myself to experience new way to live.
Teach, Learn, Share
My goal is to discover a different and far world from my own, in which I can make hands-on experience and at the same time give an actual contribution to the environment where I find myself.
Im curious and eager to find out what adventures life has in store for me, and Im fully aware that you cannot simply rush from a place to another restlessly or just make flash appearances: you need to stay on for the actual time it takes to play a real impact and build solid ties.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love sharing my time, my love and my care with people in general. I can teach you some malabares, how to do mandala and dreamcatcher, sharing books that I have, talking about life, experience, practice lenguage and of course cooking.
If you need some help at the house please let me know, it's the minimum I can do. I really like help if I can.
