About Me

don't wait for the storm to pass- dance in the rain instead. or: live in the moment, enjoy life!

I am quite tall, optimistic and relaxed but also adventurous and fun-loving. I love traveling, meeting new people, and making friends. It's actually quite hard for me to stay at one place for too long without planning the next trip.. I lived in California in the San Francisco Bay Area for a year and worked as an Au Pair. It was an amazing time!- I fell in love with the city and people there! After that I went to Buenos Aires to volunteer for 2 months- another city I learned to love, I miss my friends from there. (blog in German: sophiebuenosaires.blogspot.com) So, I live in Vienna and love this city, the architecture, food, that there are lots of events and things to do, theaters, ...

I am spontaneous and love hanging out with friends, going out, strolling around, and above all traveling and seeing as much of the world as possible... I went to Auckland for an exchange semestre and now travel NZ/Aus/South East Asia with my boyfriend Stephen. (my german blog: sophiezealand.blogspot.com)

Give every day the chance to become the most beautiful day of your life.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I couchsurf whenever I am travelling, I'm hooked.. Once I have my own apartment (I hope that that's gonna happen soon) I'll start hosting as well.

I couchsurfed in London, Paris, San Francisco, Honolulu, Maui, Seattle, las Vegas, New Orleans, Miami, Baltimore, New York, Mar del Plata, Lisbon, Munich, Christchurch, and Auckland. I have hosted some of them as well.. It always turned out great:) Couchsurfing is one of the coolest and easiest way to get known to new people while traveling.. I am still good friends with almost all the people I met through cs!

traveling, surfing, arts, music, food, riding, dancing, markets, ballet, yoga, movies, theatres, exploring cities, swimming, tennis, cooking, alpine skiing, hiking, reading, adventure sports... I love to challenge myself and always want to try out something new.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

jumped off a plane in hawaii- skydiving.is.awesome. petted a tiger cub and a grown lion, snorkeled with turtles, watched the sunrise from the top of a volcano, jumped off cliffs in Hawaii, did a Safari in Kenya, snorkelled at the great barrier reef, hitchhiked all over New Zealand, spend New Years in NYC, walked over the empty Tower Bridge in London at night- with a CS friend, stood on the edge of the Crand Canyon, swam with a dolphin, drank beer and danced on tables with CS friends at the Oktoberfest in Munich, Backpacking through South East Asia, I enjoy the "small" really amazing moments in life like standing on the beach at night and looking into the ocean..

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn about other cultures: food, customs, languages, arts, architecture, and especially music!

And I can learn you some (useful or not so useful) german words if you want... I would love to go surfing to get better, I also would like to learn how to play the guitar but I haven't got a chance to start yet..

What I Can Share With Hosts

I am respectful, interested in learning new things, love meeting people, would enjoy cooking together, have some drinks maybe, go out, watch a movie together...
