PHILOSOPHY

Alles ist gut. Der Mensch ist unglücklich, weil er nicht weiss, dass er glücklich ist. Nur deshalb. Das ist alles, alles! Wer das erkennt, der wird gleich glücklich sein, sofort im selben Augeblick.
Fjodor Michailowitsch Dostojewski

"It is better to have something to remember than nothing to regret."
Frank Zappa

"Was uns umgibt ist der wahre Spiegel unseres Selbst, weil es unser Gegenüber ist, während wir gleichzeitig der Spiegel unserer Umgebung sind."
Gerrit Rietveld

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

did some stuff like this before I knew couchsurfing.com so I was very happy to find this website. It´s not at last due to couchsurfing, that I had such a wonderful start in this beuatiful city one year ago... and found so many friends.
In fact I´m a rather dedicated networker and love to get to know other interesting and nice people and share time, experience and have fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: the Lord of the Rings, the life Aquatic, Kontroll, Monty Phyton stuff, Rivers & Tides, Hero, 8 1/2, La dolce vita, Zug des Lebens, Black cat white cat, Delicatessen, Kottan ermittelt, Hinterholz 8, 23, Silent running, Star Wars, Simpsons, Futurama, Tex Avery, Muppet Show, Jim Henson in general, ....

Music:
check out www.ledjamradio.com and www.soulsender.de and you`ll know what I like...
:)
Funk, Soul, R&B, Blues, Jazz, Rock, punkrock, prog rock, indie, electro, ambient, house, Drum n'Bass, Breakbeat & all that related stuff, classics, worldmusic, Latin, ska, reggae, Dub, ... in fact I just don't like cheap and dumb stuff that's made without ésprit or soul or whatever you may call it.
Somehow I didn´t make it to learn an instrument (besides flute as a child) I guess it´s just because I was more engaged in other arts. Anyway music is just a passion for me. And so is dancing.

Books: As my various interests occupy my time a lot, I rarely find time to read something other than job-specific literature and related. Yet I appreciate written language, thoughts and poems A LOT !!!
Books that have impressed me:
Herman Hesse - Siddartha, Tolkien - the lord of the rings, the hobbit, the Silmarillion, Marlo Morgan - Mutant Message from downunder (Traumfänger), Tom Robbins - Buntspecht, Michael Ende - der Spiegel im Spiegel, Momo, ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

lived one week without a home in Cologne as voluntary for an architectural project called "Liebesentzug" - pics can be seen here:

Teach, Learn, Share

I might share my skills in architecture esp. sustainable building, carpentry, building with clay, strawbale, but most probably I´d cook delicious food. :)
