CURRENT MISSION Existing ABOUT ME Basically I am a nerd. I study History of Art and Architecture at the University of Pittsburgh. A good bit of my free time is given over to reading, anything and everything; poetry, novels, and comics (for the most part I am a Marvel girl^_^). I also enjoy running, which is a major stress reliever for me. And I do dabble in watercolour painting as well. I am huge movie fan too. I watch everything from the oldies to the blockbusters. Some of my favorites are The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Gaslight, Key Largo, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Stardust, The Labyrinth, House of Flying Daggers, and The Illusionist; just to name a few. Other than that I can't really think of anything else. I'm pretty boring. I'll leave you now with quotes from two of my favorite poets. "Unbeing dead isn't being alive." ~E.E. Music, Movies, and Books
Music first- Mozart, I adore Requiem for a Dream. Beethoven~ Moonlight Sonata, 30 Seconds to Mars, Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, The Killers, Cursive, Martha Wainwright~ her Bye, Bye Blackbird is so lovely, Brad Paisley, Paramour, Franz Ferdinand, and I'm tired of listing them. Books~ Snakes and Earrings by Hitomi Kanehara, The Dark Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop, Tithe by Holly Black, Neverwhere by Neil Gaimen, The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis, Lord of the Rings (if you don't know the author, shame on you!), and Edgar Allen Poe of course. There are more, so if you are intensely curious feel free to ask, otherwise I am done listing here. Movies~ I mentioned them earlier so if you want to see the listing it's in the about me section (oops! hehe) Anyway, I do love movies and going to see them, they're just great.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I have not had the privilege of doing anything or seeing anything truly amazing, but maybe someday I will, mind you have been waiting for someday for a while.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know quite a bit about art, paintings and how to read them, their significance etc... I should considering that I am spending a ridiculous amount of time and money learning about them :) Anyway, if you have a particular interest in learning something about art I enjoy trying to explain so don't be afraid to ask. Other than that I don't have much to contribute knowledge wise, my skill set is extremely limited and highly impractical. =)
My Interests
Art, I love art. All kinds poetry, theatre, movies, to paintings, it gives life meaning, provides answers to questions that have not necessarily been asked or cannot be answered with simple straightforward words. Sometimes the answers we seek to the questions that plague us are to felt, being unable to be conveyed with typical means. Art does this, allows us to feel them.
