Hello friends!

My name is Stella, and I grew up all my life at the foot of the beautiful Colorado Rockies. I go to school in Missouri, but am spending this semester down in New Zealand, happy to no longer be land-locked. I am quite the amateur when it comes to large bodies of water, so I am super excited to see all that an ocean has to offer.

I love being outdoors and exploring new places; favorite activities include skiing, snowboarding, hiking, fishing, swimming in water holes, stargazing, etc. My other hobbies include playing rugby, working in theater tech, and showing visitors the night sky at my university observatory.

If I can be any landmark, I would choose to be a waterfall, since they are powerful, majestic, and are always keeping things flowing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like many of us, I really enjoy meeting new people, engaging in new cultures, and learning about new ways of life. I am trying to avoid growing up too fast, but when that day comes, I want to be as informed about the world as possible.

Music: Everything!
Movies: I love scary movies. Current favorites are The Descent and The Conjuring.
Books: The Kiterunner and Silence of the Lambs. I will read (and re-read) anything though.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love board sports, and am very happy to teach anyone who wants to learn to ski, snowboard, or skateboard. I am also happy to help anyone practice their (Mandarin) Chinese and English. In addition, I can cook authentic Chinese food, and love to feed people.
