Philip and I (Stephanie) have lived in Atlanta, GA USA for four years where I worked as a freelance copywriter and he worked at an affordable housing agency for state government.

This year we decided to take an extended trip abroad for a few months to explore the world. Our goals include (but are not limited to): seeing the most incredible places, meeting beautiful people, being challenged, adventuring together, and trying to learn French.

We traveled abroad separately before getting married 7 years ago, and now we're ready to explore as a couple. We love to be still at home with our dog and our local community, but we also believe a full life includes lots of discovery--about ourselves, our world, and other people. That means getting away from home. Pushing our brains and bodies outside of our comfort zone. Engaging with cultures. And, before we have kids, we'd like to do this for an extended amount of time.

We love that there are amazing people in every country and we can have great, insightful conversations even with very different backgrounds. I'm learning that people are people everywhere and that we all want to know others and be pursued.

Since 2010 we have couchsurfed in Europe, South Africa and the US, and each experience has given us a sincere appreciation for the places we've traveled. We have not had a bad experience thus far, and our hope is to give back the hospitality that has been lavished upon us.
