After working as a political speechwriter, then a software entrepreneur for several years, I sold my company to travel the world. I spent last year in South America, and now I'm off to Europe!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
The best way to know a place is to meet its people, and the quickest way to learn about the world is meeting other travelers. I'm also carrying all my camping gear, so I'm happy to crash on a bit of empty floor.
Music, Movies, and Books
I play several instruments (saxophone, violin, piano, ukulele/guitar) and like a mix of folk, classical, prog rock, and metal- but I'm not picky. The Lord of the Rings is my favorite book, and a great audiobook to listen to while hiking across mountains.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I've had lots of amazing adventures: amazingadventuresofsteve.com While backpacking from Belize to Tierra del Fuego, I spent a week solo-hiking through the Andes to explore the deserted Inca city of Choquequirao.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've had some interesting experiences founding tech companies, traveling the world, and working in American politics. I'm told I'm a good storyteller.
What I Can Share With Hosts
Tell me a good restaurant, and I'll take you there. Interesting stories, travel tips, and I'm a decent photographer if you'd like a new headshot (@steveventures)
