About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Sharing my wwoof experience with people, and positively influencing people I meet.

ABOUT ME

I have enjoyed being a retiree since 2004. I am always ready to learn.
I have two daughters and a son. My daughters are married. My elder daughter is living in Germany with her German husband. I am now living with my younger daughter and her husband in a small flat in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is a concrete forest of high-rise buildings. To own a house with a garden is a luxury, or too inconvenient to go to work, or having rare visitors to come.
Working in the garden, keeping dogs and a horse, watching the starry sky are things that I wish to do. The rapid urbanization of Hong Kong has diminished more and more of the countryside. Now,joining the couchsurfing project and to wwoof may fulfil my humble wish.
I love cooking and enjoy cooking for anyone who loves new recipies.
I do not like hot weather, so I always get away from Hong Kong in summer, and do not have great interest visiting tropical countries, except for just very short trips while the climate is still acceptable for me. However, travelling in my way is an incredible idea for a Chinese woman. Not to mention about my age, but my background, a little woman who has never left her hometown alone and has worked for life only with children. How come she can manage to face the world. But, I did it and I want to keep going.

PHILOSOPHY

To live a life without challenges is insignificant.
Sharing makes life more beautiful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Travelling around the world has been my childhood dream. WWoofing is not only an economical way of travelling but also provides me a chance to stay with local people, work with them and exchange our culture. There is in fact a lot to learn during the stay. Robbie, my first wwoof host, is also a CS host,
introduced this organization to me after my second visit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met Gail in 2008 and Martha in 2009 in HK. We had Dim Sum and did a little sightseeing and they both invited me to go to visit them in America. I had the US trip in Oct 2009 to Florida and Connecticut to visit them. I had a great time with them. Then in 2010,Gail and I went to Tibet, Mt Everest Base Camp, Nepal and India together. We had CS hosted us in Xining, Kathemundu, Pohkara, Dehli, Bangalore and Sakleshpur. Wonderful experience!!
This year in Oct, 2011, after wwoofing in Australia for four weeks, I joined Gail in Auckland to do a
3-week trip in New Zealand. We had rental cars to drive for ten days in total. Gail was the only driver, because I never drive. She is an experinced driver as well as a great traveller. She is excellent.
