About Me

Hi there! 👋

I’m Sully, an adventurer at heart and co-founder of Le Globetrotter, a travel-themed bar in Bordeaux, France.

We've just opened last september !

Our place is all about travel and adventure — every month we highlight a different country, exploring its drinks, culture, and stories through themed nights and encounters with travelers from around the world. 🌎

I love sharing travel stories, discovering new cultures, and meeting fellow globetrotters passing through Bordeaux.

We’re currently organizing language exchange meetups and themed nights to create even more opportunities for cultural exchange and connection.

If you’re ever in Bordeaux, come by Le Globetrotter, grab a drink, and share your adventure with us! 🍹✈️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing to meet travelers from all over the world and to make Le Globetrotter Bar a friendly place for them to share their stories.
Every month we highlight a different country, host themed nights, and organize events for language exchange and travel storytelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Difficult to say...
I think my favourite song is “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac.

When it comes to movies, I’m a huge fan of fantasy worlds like The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, or Harry Potter.
But I’ve also watched The Last Samurai more times than I can count!

Since I was a child, I’ve been reading manga like Naruto, One Piece, and Dragon Ball Z.
They taught me a lot about perseverance and never giving up.

Nowadays, I’ve started to read more classic books, like George Orwell, as well as books about navigation and rum — two passions that perfectly match my adventurous spirit!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’d say there are two major adventures I’ve been lucky enough to live!

During my trip to the Caribbean, I had one clear goal: to get there by sailboat.
I had just finished my winter season working in the Alps when I posted a message on Bourse aux Équipiers, hoping to find a boat heading toward the sun.
Just four days later, I was on a plane to Cape Verde, about to board a brand-new sailboat with Roger, a captain delivering it to the Caribbean.

The dream came true — I crossed the Atlantic Ocean from Cape Verde to Saint Martin in 18 days.

Once there, I wanted to visit my cousin and other family living in the area.
So I started looking for another boat, and that’s how I met Axel, a young sailor from my hometown who had just bought his own sailboat in Saint Martin.
I decided to join him on a journey that turned out to be even more incredible than I could have imagined.
We stopped at several islands along the way: Montserrat, Antigua, Les Saintes, Dominica, and Martinique.
I even ended up working for a month in Les Saintes, something I never expected to happen!

Later, I settled in Guadeloupe, where I worked for about a year.
But soon I realized it would be a shame not to complete the loop by sailing back to France.
So once again, I found a crew through Bourse aux Équipiers, and set off for an 18-day crossing from Guadeloupe to the Azores.
After an amazing 20-day stay in the Azores, I joined another boat heading to La Rochelle, which took 12 more days at sea.

It was an unforgettable adventure — a true journey of freedom, encounters, and discovery, where every wave carried a new story.
