I am a laidback person who enjoys meeting new people.
For me, travel is meaningless without some sort of contact, at any level, with the local people of a place I visit. However beautiful a place, at the end of the day, for me, it the people of the place that make me like the place or not.
Coming from a Jain background I guess all my moral and philosophical beliefs spring (or should do) from the central concept of AHIMSA. Unfortunately it is much more easy concept to accept in theory than to apply in practice. But I am trying.
Keep it simple.
Do not judge or be judged.
Do not cause suffering or take suffering.
The world needs less religion and more spirituality.
My conscience is the highest authority in my moral decisions. I do not need, and indeed find it an insult to my conscience and intelligence, to think that I need a preacher or a book to tell me right from wrong.

Nov 2016 update -
My house is having refurbishments at present and, until it is finished, I am not able to host as the spare room will be unavailable. In exceptional circumstances I can make an exception and share my bedroom.
I love travelling and meeting new people on my travels. Prefer to interact with local residents of any destination rather than impersonal hotel staff. Also love hosting people from all over the world to exchange ideas.
To date (Dec 2014) I have:
a) Hosted more than 55 times
b) Surfed more than 20 times
c) hosted a CS charity BBQ event for 40+ guests at my place on behalf of a CS member from outside London
d)held kitchen-surfing dinners at my place 3 times
2016 update - U nfortunately I am not in a right space to host at present, Hope that will change very soon
