About Me

Life fascinates me.

'Change is the only constant' Heraclitus

Working on a popup massage project: https://popupmassagelondon.wordpress.com/

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

Honestly: I joined CS because I was traveling totally broke and needed somewhere to stay, it was and still is my base for traveling. I know that is controversial but I would emphasize that people participate for different reasons: for some it is primarily a social thing, for some an 'exchange' and for others it comes from necessity. I fall in the third category. Don't get me wrong: I greatly value the amazing experiences, connections and even long-lasting friendships I have made. But I do believe in a gift-economy. When I can I will give and when I can't I will take and I feel no shame in saying that I wish the world was more 'pass the kindness on' and forget the money or even non-monetary 'exchange'.

I love the original premise but CS is changing a lot, being diluted by increased commercialism. For this reason I am upset and want a place where I can really Be Welcome*

Interested in so many things, maybe too many. It changes as I meet new people who inspire me

collaborating, sharing, stories, sustainability, insects, GIS, coding, massage, dancing,(acro)yoga, languages, startups, debating, contact improv, hulahoop, ariels (silks), cooking, capoeira, salsa...I could go on

Music, Movies & Books

Really getting into some classical pieces lately. Current favourite is Frédéric Chopin's "Raindrop" Prelude --so much depth!!

This is so so so amazing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLkU1kZrsWU

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Spring 2013 I (and 100-200 other people) climbed and attacked a big ice-castle deep in a forest somewhere near Moscow as part of a mystical traditional event for Maslinitsa (Russian festival of winter changing to spring). Many people climbing on each others faces is dirty but extremely fun! I did hurt my tail-bone a little, but I don't regret it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn, what can you teach me?

Would like to learn some techy stuff, python or js or another?

Can share my knowledge of traveling for years on basically no money.

Some salsa steps, a few hula hoop tricks, how to make a lotus flower from a serviette....

I can also share my experience so far of giving up added sugar (>1 year now)...it is an adventure.

What I Can Share With Hosts

Lots...read my references ;)
