*** We are currently traveling and will not be back home until the end of May, so we will not be able to host during the month of May. Feel free to send us requests for any time after that.
Thank you! ***
Before you read any further, please be aware that we are a family with two small children (2.5 years and 4 months) and our house is located about 25 minutes from downtown Charleston by car (approximate location: https://goo.gl/maps/HKtVg). The kids are in bed by 7:30PM, so if you want to spend the night out and/or sleep in late, you might be better off looking elsewhere to make the experience more enjoyable for all.
Now, read on! We'd be happy to have you over!
We are a young family of four who loves to travel, both to far-away countries and close to home. When we are not travelling, we are exploring our own city. When we are not doing that, we are making good memories with friends and family. We are no party animals, but enjoy staying up late from time to time for conversations with interesting people, a cup of tea in hand. And cookies. We are open-minded, creative, and very (very) energetic.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW WE PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far, we've hosted 76 people from 13 countries with ages ranging from 9 months to 75 years old. Why do we keep hosting? Because every one of these guests brought us so much excitement that we want to keep experiencing it over and over again. Hosting is a bit like a drug really...
We surfed for the first time during our two-week trip to Japan and had a blast with each and every one of our hosts!
We were lucky enough to host amazing people with wonderful stories to share and unforgettable cooking skills. :)
Our trip to Japan was made much more interesting than it could have been by the awesome people who hosted us and shared their culture with us.
Most recently, we had our first "long" vacation with Nina (10 days that is) touring the U.S. Pacific Northwest. Nina was 17 months at the time and we stayed almost exclusively with Couchsurfing hosts.
Tania is a crafter. She likes to glue, paste, crochet, paint, and make a mess around her while doing all that.
Dima is a runner, balalaika player, and DIYer. He also likes to clean up the mess that Tania makes.
At two and a half years of age, Nina likes books, puzzles, and anything she is not supposed to be playing with. She is currently very shy though.
Alex is only a couple months old, so he mostly eats and sleeps. For now. But he is very fascinated by the world around him and loves attention.
Together, they like to pack their travel bags (and not so much to unpack them) and discover new horizons. They also love cooking, geocaching and learning languages.
