About Me

Hi,
I'm a 20-year-old from Germany, enjoying life and sun.

I like to be different from what people call "normal" - but don't worry! I can describe myself as curious, open and communicative. Meeting new people is something great for me, but I'm a bit introvert and still learning what it means to be outgoing :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During the time I spent abroad as a volunteer and intern, I discovered how significant the difference between visiting a place as a tourist and actually living there really is. For me, tourism and travelling means more than just to be carried around and spend the whole day on the beach, so I really want to get to know the places where I'm going. That's why I'm enjoying tips from locals.

In fact, I even learn something about my home city through Couchsurfing ;-)

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite book is "Isola" by Isabel Abedi, a German author. In general, I like historical novels, fantasy, detectice stories, scifi as well as books dealing with society and politics. There's hardly any book I would not read, to be honest.

With music it's similiar: I enjoy many different genres such as classical music, rock, instrumentals, pop, country, a capella, soundtracks and also stuff like hornpipe music, songs with the whales and indian songs. Some of the interpreters I'm listening most frequently to: Wiseguys, Bob Dylan, Sting, The Piano Guys, Tchaikovsky, Hans Zimmer, Greenday, Karl Jenkins and Stilbruch.

The movie question is difficult... "Inception" was really good, you can watch it several times and you'll always learn something new. The same with "Interstellar".

Besides that, all Harry Potter books, movies, soundtracks are just... magical!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

If you interpret "amazing" as "crazy", I could tell you how to wash carpets in a small river, like people used to do it some twohundred years ago. Including the old instruments, of course.

Pretty amazing, but not that crazy was snorkling in Indonesia, passing fish of all colours, funny plants and corals and several other creatures. When I think back to that experience, I often feel that time is working differently underwater... Or, in other words, it doesn't exist, for none of the creatures living there cares about future. That's what I really like about their world.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: basic knitting skills, fold Fröbel paper stars, a few German and Saxon recipes, German language, ...

Learn: foreign languages and traditions, recipes from your country, ... I'm open and curious about everything you want to tell or teach.
