Overview
About Me
Hey there! I'm Tarran from Canberra, Australia. I have couchsurfed and hitchhiked around a few different countries now and the communities I've come across have really inspired me to keep looking for spontaneous chances to meet new interesting people, wherever I may be. So far I have visited 23 countries and hope to add more to that tally, but no need to rush through of course.
I love to travel and meet people from other walks of life whenever I can, I find it the most interesting and memorable way to experience a country and its culture. I am a big believer in the core of couchsurfing, genuine cultural exchange!
Exploration, spontaneity, good chats and adventurous outdoor activities are always a goal on a trip. Maybe you'll find me surfing, freediving, sailing, hiking or looking for a local sport team to join.
I'm also a bit of a nerd, I have an irrational love for Nintendo from my childhood. I'm into music, having played in an orchestra for many years as a double bassist, and giving fingerstyle guitar a go here and there.
I have started my year long trip through Asia, Sweden and Norway starting 18th November and would love to find some interesting hosts along the way!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think this is a great way to get a genuine experience of different cultures while travelling and meeting interesting locals
Interests
I love playing iconic tunes on the guitar to the best of my ability so far. I'm a fan of almost any outdoor activity but I also enjoy reading a fantasy novel or watching a solid tv show/movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did volunteering, looking after 10 Alaskan husky sled dogs in the Swedish arctic circle for a month. Staying at a mountain lodge in a town with a population of 9. My legs were real tired after taking them out running everyday. (It was in summer, so the off season for dog sledding)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a RYA qualified sailing day skipper, and am looking for more chances to get sailing and maybe cross a few oceans!
Also have a cert III in fitness if you'd like to hit the gym or go for a run :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
