Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed couches in Europe and in the US. There were also a lot of couchsurfers coming through the appartment where I lived in Lille. I have only hosted once in Sweden, mainly because I lived places seemingly no one wanted to visit.

Interests

I read and write a lot. I am especially fond of novels, but am trying to read more poetry. I am fascinated by why humans do what they do, and will gladly discuss any random theories on how it all goes together. I also like to do things with my hands. when I had a stable living situation I made about half of the clothes I wore. I recently knitted my first sweater. I really like to try new types of handicrafts. I also enjoy cooking and baking, and am happy to try any type of strange meat since I recently converted from almost a lifetime of vegetarianism. I have a certain spot in my heart for forests and the ocean, but also love the endless patchwork that is my understanding of city life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all three of them, and have a fairly broad taste. for movies whatever breaks the traditional plot line will gain extra liking from me. for books I am highly impressed by those who manage to write so that the main message is never spelled out, but remains lingering in between the lines. with music I take pleasure in people trying to convince me that their favourite band is all I was ever looking for. I used to say I could not stand metal and electronical music, but I find that is not completely true anymore. it is almost true though. I go for voice more than text, and is completely sold when the two are well combined.
