Overview
About Me
Hi there! I’m Taya — originally from Ukraine 🇺🇦
Life pushed me far beyond what I ever expected, and now I’m walking through the world as a solo-student-volunteer-refugee kind of traveler. I’m trying not to lose a single moment of this beautiful life, even when it’s chaotic and unpredictable.
I’m currently based in Germany, where I work at Hugo Boss and study business and marketing. Actually, I study in two universities at once (don’t ask how I survive that 😅) — while also finishing my bachelor’s degree remotely from Ukraine.
I also have experience working in retail and customer service, even in languages I don’t speak well (hello, German!). So I’m used to adapting fast and learning on the go.
MY VIBE
People often describe me as calm, kind, and easy to be around. I’m quite introverted, so I travel mostly for places, not just for people. I love calm mornings, quiet thoughts, and deep stories.
I’m an early bird and often wake up before sunrise just to experience a new place when it’s still quiet — before the crowds, noise, and distractions.
I might be a bit shy at first and I’m not the most talkative guest — but I’m a great listener, and I’m always present. I deeply appreciate meaningful connections, even the silent ones.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I want to see the world through real eyes.
To meet kind souls, learn how others live, and keep discovering not only new cities but also new parts of myself. I’ve never traveled like this before, and it’s already changed the way I see everything.
Interests
I’m fascinated by quiet mornings, long walks with music, and getting a little lost in new places.
I love concerts, hiking trails, street food, learning languages, reflective moments, and solo travel.
I’m also really interested in psychology, emotional resilience, and how people grow through life.
And I’m a big fan of musicals and meaningful silence.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to different kinds of music depending on my mood. Prefer reading thrillers but mostly I like watching musicals.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I listen to all kinds of music depending on my mood — sometimes soft and slow, sometimes loud and wild.
I love musicals (especially when they hit emotionally) and prefer reading thrillers — they keep me grounded and distracted at the same time.
60s-90s Rock is my passion. I’ve to Metallica concert and look forward to Scorpions and AC/DC concerts (trying to hear as many favourite artists as possible at any cost - you never know when they won’t be able to perform anymore)
Teach, Learn, Share
What I Can Teach:
I can teach you some basics in Ukrainian or Russian, and share a bit about our culture, food, and how we celebrate life (even in difficult times).
I can also share tips on traveling on a budget, managing work + study + life (somehow!), and how to stay calm even when everything’s chaotic around you.
What I’d Like to Learn:
I’d love to hear personal stories — especially about people’s passions, dreams, and what they’ve learned from life. I’m also learning German now, so even some small language help would be appreciated! :)
What I Can Share:
I’m always happy to share food, a quiet walk, or deep conversation. But also, I respect boundaries and silence — I know sometimes that’s what we need most.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Mostly, I’m a really good listener — calm, kind, and respectful. If I feel comfortable, I’m always happy to share stories and talk, but I’m never someone who forces energy or noise into a space. I try to be the kind of guest I’d want to host.
