My name is Tihomir (which means 'serenity'). If that's hard to remember or pronounce, you can call me T.

Travelling and languages are my passions. I grew up in Bulgaria, but in the past 18 years I have lived in Iceland, New Zealand, Vanuatu, on the road, and now in Leipzig.

For work, I do research on language, evolution, endangered language documentation, and specifically on the languages of Vanuatu.

I like people and nature - climbing mountains, cycling and doing long treks. I like to camp in places with beautiful views. Good company is always a plus.

I jumped off an airplane (while in flight), survived a fall down a waterfall, travelled overland from Nepal to Iceland, witnessed a sema ceremony (whirling dervishes) in Konya, Turkey, biked over 15000 km in Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, New Zealand, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Iran and Iceland, paddled down the Sepik River in Papua New Guinea, traveled down the Amazon river to go to Carnival in Brazil, wrote a grammar of a previously undocumented language...
