About Me

2010 I did an exchange year in Costa Rica and since then I love traveling and visiting new places, and especially meeting new people. After studying social work in the beautiful city of Lucerne I went traveling with my girlfriend for one year. We stayed two months in China, five months in Malaysia, 3 months in Peru and two months in Bolivia. As you can see I'm not a fast traveler ;) When I travel it's more interesting for me to meet local people and to know more about the country and places I stay.

I grow up with two cultures. My mother is from Finland but I have always (except the year in Costa Rica) lived in Switzerland.

Now back in Switzerland I work for an NPO as a volunteer coordinator.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I like stories from other travelers, I love different food and drinks and I like culture.

Interests

In my free time, I like to bartender for me and my friends. I "own" a little bar, which is the best bar in town ;)

This summer I started to like hiking and my girlfriend and my current project is to hike the Trans Swiss Trail.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kind of historic books (like the medical), books from John Grisham and the Jack Reacher. The Jack Reacher stories are great to read while traveling, we found them all over the globe :D

I don't really watch movies, but I listen to music. Mostly Rap, Reggaeton and Reggae.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

With 16 I left Switzerland to live one year abroad. I stayed with a local family, learned a lot about the culture and the way of life. Before I left for Costa Rica I spoke only a couple of sentences in Spanish but since my host family didn't speak English I definitely had to learn it. This year was challenging but opening my mind at the same time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I know a lot of people all over Switzerland, so I'm happy helping you getting in contact with other locals. During my free days I could join you and we can travel to other cities or go for a hike.

Countries I’ve Visited

Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, England, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Singapore
