Hi there! 🤩😁

I’m Thay — a psychologist and lifelong traveler. My passion for exploring the world started early: at 16, I traveled alone to South Africa on a missionary trip, and since then I’ve visited 70+ countries (and counting!). Every place has taught me something new about the world and about myself — and I truly love that.

Right now, I’m traveling together with my brother Luiz and his fiancée Fabi as part of the project The World Through Other Eyes.

We’re currently preparing for the second stage of the project — Asia will be our next destination very soon!

I love connecting with new people, sharing stories, and learning deeply about different cultures. I’m easygoing, respectful, organized, and I truly value meaningful conversations. I believe the best part of traveling is always the people you meet along the way.

As I’m currently based in Canada, I’m able to host while planning my next steps. Hosting is my way of giving back a little of everything this amazing CS community has given me throughout this year of travels!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe the best part of traveling is connecting with people. It’s not just about places — it’s about stories, perspectives, and meaningful exchanges. This platform allows me to experience local life in a genuine way that no guidebook or hotel ever could.

1. Travel alone to South Africa when I was 16 in a missionary trip.

2. Arrive in Laguna 69 and Glaciar Pastoruri in Huaraz, Peru, with any physical prepation.

3. Climb the pacaya volcano in Guatemala and try a delicious pizza there.

4. Visiting a thermal pool in the middle of nowhere, close to midnight in Slovenia.

5. Complete my PhD in psychology when I was still 28!

6. Have published my own book! It is called “Traveling on the purpose” and it is available in Amazon 😁

7. Take a sabatic year to travel!
