Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I was very active in the Washington, DC couchsurfing community, but don't use the website much outside of finding events while traveling (I have hosted a decent number of people more informally). I've hosted a number of events for the DC CS community, including being the primary organizer for our recent couch crashes and an organizer of our now weekly Thursday meetups, starting a "Get Woke" book club, hosting a Potluck Iftar, a trip to the National Museum of the American Indian, a holiday party for ~100 surfers, and hosting forums on CS policy/safety.
