About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Healing the world, one friendship at a time.

ABOUT ME

Adventurous and chatty for sure. Sometimes a little serious myself, although I love meeting people with a great sense of humor.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live with three other people in a huge house with a great backyard, and a two minute walk from the stunning Back Bay trail. My roommates are happy to have couch surfers, although I'm officially the host and do all the organizing.

My summer is slammed with music, I have gigs every weekend, so people looking for a place to stay on weekdays, or people who are completely self-sufficient at this time are more likely to be accepted for requests. I've been feeling a little overwhelmed lately with commitments and time constraints, so a request that is for at least two weeks in advance is also more likely to be accepted.

I say no pets, but it may be possible. I'd have to talk to my roommate with the two little dogs, but if you have a dog friendly pet, it can be negotiated.

Interests

I am a musician and spend a LOT of my time either playing live music or watching indpenedent artists make music. I also read as much as I can in the worldly literary fiction, or journalistic non-fiction genres mostly. Although I'm finding less and less time for reading lately. I love to go places I've never been, even if it just means a new coffee shop across town. Since I"ve moved back to my home state of Maine, I've been tackling mountains one at a time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Margaret Atwood, John Irving, Tom Perrotta, Tom Robbins

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Truck hopping in Mongolia with two great companions from Spain is definitely a highlight. We bought a slab of meat from a butcher and ate yak stew made with potatoes and carrots every night, told dirty jokes, and spend many uncomfortable hours together in Russian jeeps packed to the gills with local travellers.

Seeing the Himalayas for the first time is definitely up there with "awestruck", but what really got me about Nepal was the people. I spent an extended amount of time in Nepal while the Maoist protests (riots?) were fairly heated. I was walking down a street in Kathmandu fairly oblivious to what was going on when a woman carrying a baby grabbed my home and dragged me into a shop where they promptly slammed the metal gate down. The fact that a woman carrying her own young child thought to get my attention and get me out of harms way left me completely humbled.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Hungary, Mongolia, Serbia, Taiwan, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Mexico, Nepal, South Korea, Thailand, United States
