I am physicist with a lot of interests. I'm interested in philosophy, hiking, bird watching, sociology and yes, such a cliché, hanging out with friends and partying. Who could imagine? There's more to me of course, but to find out we’ll have to hang out!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To not only see beautiful countries, but to also meet the people living there. Traveling in hostel to hostel can be great experience, but there's always the risk only meeting foreigners visiting the country. This is sad of course, and therefore must be avoided!

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently I am learning French, by immersing myself in all the diversity of the francophone work. Not just learning the rules in grammar (which do interest me) but also the cuisine, history and music. Sadly I won't have time to immerse myself to the same extend during my trip in Asia, but I hope couch surfing can bring me as close to this as possible.

My greatest interest, however, is in German philosophy and sociology. I am very interested in writers like Max Weber, Karl Marx, Friedrich Nietzsche, Reinhart Koselleck, etc. One day I hope to unravel the mystery of mankind, through those books combined with my lived experience.
