Overview
About Me
I can only accept last-minute requests, one week in advance at most.
I am traveler who loves my home country. I’m from Northern Norway, where the sun shines 24 hours a day in summer and disappears completely in winter. So, after autumn arrives, I jump into my motorhome and chase the sun as far south as I can, staying close to the equator until spring calls me back home. I’ve been doing this for years, and I’m certain this rhythm of exploring the world in winter and savoring the magic of my hometown, Bodø, in summer is how I’ll spend the rest of my life.
In one hand, I’m a practical guy who loves fixing things (I truly believe anything can be repaired). In the other, I’m a thinker who enjoys pondering life’s big, unanswerable questions. I love hearing different perspectives, even when we disagree, and I’m always eager to learn whether it’s about other cultures, new ideas, or the unexpected stories of the people I meet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’ve had great experiences with Workaway, but I often find myself wanting more flexibility and most hosts expect a minimum two-week stay, with a bigger focus on the skills I bring. While I’m happy to help out (and I’ve got plenty to offer, I’m a trained electrician, mechanic, and carpenter, with experience welding and working with all kinds of materials), I’d rather keep my stays shorter (a few days up to two weeks max) and place more emphasis on the people I meet and the connections we make.
For me, travel is about learning and understanding local cultures, sharing perspectives, and simply enjoying good company. Sure, I’m handy and happy to lend a hand if needed, but I’d love it if that wasn’t the main reason we meet.
Bonus: You don’t even need to host me inside your home! My motorhome is just 5.4 meters long (fits in a normal parking spot), so all I need is a place to park. And if you’re curious, you’re welcome to crash on my couch and then we can explore your area together, swap stories, or just share a meal.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is like my travels - completely fluid. I might be blasting electronic beats while driving through Europe, then switch to haunting Norse folk songs when hiking back home in Norway. There's something magical about listening to centuries-old Viking melodies while surrounded by misty fjords - it's like time traveling. I love introducing people to these ancient sounds (and no, it's not the Viking metal you're thinking of!).
When it comes to movies and shows, I'm either looking for pure joy or deep stimulation - nothing in between. A feel-good comedy or a mind-bending documentary? Count me in. A mediocre drama? Hard pass.
Books are my knowledge fuel. I'm currently fascinated by neuroscience ("Our Amazing Brain" blew my mind - pun intended). For me, reading is about expanding my understanding of this incredible world we live in.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Chose my own path over society’s blueprint
(but yes, I’ve also jumped out of planes, parachute included!)
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
• How to fix (almost) anything – from leaky pipes to stubborn engines
• The Viking approach to outdoor living (fire-building, shelter improvising, and embracing bad weather)
• The art of minimalist travel – packing a whole life into 5.4 meters
Learn:
• Your hometown's hidden gems – the places only locals know
• How different cultures solve the same problems (bonus if it makes me rethink my ways)
• That one family recipe you swear by – especially if it involves open-fire cooking
Share:
• Midnight sun stories from Arctic Norway
• The philosophy of "Allemansrätten" (Scandinavia's Right to Roam)
• A playlist of Norse music that'll make your mountains feel epic
What I Can Share with Hosts
My motorhome couch, all my practical skills, and an open invitation to my Arctic cabin - perched on a mountain summit where northern lights crown the sky in winter and midnight sun burns all night in summer... yet just a 10-minute (thrilling) bike ride down to the city should you crave what city life has to offer.
