CURRENT MISSION To get as much out of life as a I can - I want to go everywhere, and see everything. And then maybe make some art or write some stories about it :) ABOUT ME I'm vegan, but I'm not a jerk about it! I have two small dogs and a cat, and also another large dog by proxy. I love them all fiercely, even when there's infighting! The rundown: I'm 25, living with my parents to help them out with bills, saving up money, working on a long-term goal of moving to Stockholm and a short-term goal of travelling everywhere I can. I have a regular 8:30 - 5:00 graphic design job during the week, and do some design work on the side (mostly resume formatting/editing). I spend most of my time at work, and then the gym, and then at home. I'm pretty low-maintenance, but I get excited when talking about fascinating things. I don't tolerate douchebags or bullies, so as long as you aren't overtly an asshole, I'm nice as pie. It takes a lot to offend me, and I'm completely fine with both keeping to myself and spending time with strangers. PHILOSOPHY It's long and involved. The super short version is: Life is a party. Don't be a buzz kill. It doesn't hurt you to let someone else do their own thing, unless 'doing their own thing' is hurting you (or others). Then you throw their ass out.

Music, Movies, and Books
AVENGERS EVERYTHING, Inception, The Dark Knight, The Road to El Dorado, Disney's Hercules, Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame. BILLY JOEL, Eminem, Kent, Gin Blossoms, Tom Waits, tons of loose songs (I generally prefer particular songs to particular bands). George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series; The Only Alien on the Planet by Kristin Randle; Goodbye Tsugumi by Banana Yoshimoto; Antoine de Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince; Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time; Peter S. Beagle's The Last Unicorn; Frank Miller's Sin City series, and also his The Dark Knight series; Alan Moore's V for Vendetta; Neil Gaiman's Sandman series; tons of other things I've forgotten for the nonce.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I went with my art department in college to London, Paris, and Rome. I remember turning a corner in a museum and seeing, at the top of a stair, the Winged Victory. I remember catching my breath, and feeling my heart speed up, because it was so beautiful and larger-than-life. I later learned this was probably mild Stendahl syndrome. I seem to get it a lot when I look at beautiful things. I remember the Arc du Triomphe, and six-lane roundabouts with no defined lanes. I remember Kaua'i, and how beautiful everything in the world seemed - the night full of stars, the sense of being alone in the middle of the sea, at night, and the smell of island perfume: salt air and strange flora, crowned by the impossibly perfect scent of plumeria. I remember Japan, with so many independently owned shops and grocery stores; it was really amazing, how un-corporate everything was. I remember haggling in broken Spanish in Cancun, two sheets to the wind, and rappelling in the forests of Belize.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Shaolin Chuan Fa Kung Fu up to first degree black sash; I can teach English; I can teach how to use a computer, or how to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator; I can teach elementary art, i.e. color theory and how shapes fit together. I can't teach someone to draw, but I can show them how I draw and what tools can be used. I'm also very good at origami and stretching exercises.
