About Me
Just returned back from Hermanus / South Africa after 6 months there, its my second home. Happy to host you on special request, please let me know, why you would like to connect first.
born in Hamburg, studied and worked in hotel and tourism (operations, financing in developing & emerging markets, consulting), studied European Business Economics in Germany and the UK, focused on Eastern Europe to start off with, lived and worked in Russia for a few years, travelled (workwise) for more than 30 years to the African Continent, Latin America, Asia. Hiked a lot from Hamburg to my hotel & catering school in Bavaria. Watched the Berlin wall coming down on TV in a Russian Youth Hostel -while leaering the Russian language) for 7 months. Played Squash in almost any Township on a 3 months out-time in between changing jobs in Australia on my wy fron Sydney to Queensland and later in New Zealand. Did not know nothing about couch surfing than, but organized it my self and ran into the most interesting and amazing people and hosts.
Love meeting new charismatic people from all over the world and exchanging ideas in an international environment, Enjoy music, literature, dance (especially Zumba), Modern Art, and engage in the exchange with friends and business contacts and constantly enlarging my network of connections.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
body board surfing in South Africa, skip linining (old fashined close to Knysna; the big 5 thereafter; Frequent participations on international podium discussions on developmental social and environmental effects in the tourism industry held at AHIF conferences (Ethiopia, Togo, Kenya, Ruanda) and Latin America;
Gorilla watching in Ruanda, The tallest and biggest Gorilla of the family took a liking in me and pushed me as the only one of our group down; walking in the rain of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe/ Zambia in early morning hours without tourists; Cornell University Course in Ottawa;, where my luggage finally arrived on the day of departure, ice- diving in St. Petersburg, Russia and in Denmark in December. ice scating in Hamburg on the Alster, including ice hockey. Driving a rental car (just on my own) from Kaliningrad to Vilnius; Riga, Tartu, Tallin; St . Petersburg: travelling on my own in Australia & New Zealand for 3 months (main "weapon in luggage": 2 Squash rackets - to meet & greet people in every little village that I visited)
