Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING:
I've met so many amazing people in my travels, and would love to see where I can help. I'd love to meet travelers from all over the country and all over the world, and hear about your crazy adventures. I'm still posting about mine at Visit50.com. Let me know when your adventures take you to NYC, and let's explore together!

I'm now back to New York; I usually can't offer lodging, but I'd be happy to show you around when I can, and invite you to join my friends out at night.

Also, if you're interested in CouchSurfing, I highly recommend you have a profile filled out with photos so hosts can trust you and get to know you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just got back from a tremendous journey throughout Asia - meeting lots of wonderful people, including CouchSurfers and Trippers (Tripping.com), along the way. I've couch-surfed and hosted Couch-Surfers.

Interests

Travel (obviously!). I love photography, particularly travel photography. I just started learning how to use my SLR but I take photos everywhere I go, whether it's chronicling my trip, artistic photos, or just funny or goofy shots of my friends. Love it! I also love live music, snowboarding, and so much more!

Music, Movies & Books

Music is often so much better live - I love both rock bands and DJ's. In the past couple of years, I've seen The Killers, Girl Talk, Sublime, Mumford, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jack Johnson, Foo Fighters, Weezer, Imagine Dragons, Black Keys, Spoon, Hozier, Calvin Harris, Phoenix, Strokes, Jack White, Outkast, Passion Pit, Chromeo, Paul McCartney, Lumineers, Tiësto, Petty, Matt and Kim, The National, Florence and The Machine, Vampire W/e, Cold War Kids, Bastille, MGMT, Dylan, Skrillex, and more. Fun!

At the moment I'm trying to learn more about photography. It's a huge passion of mine, particularly travel photography, and I really took it up a notch on my recent trip. You'll see some of the work at Visit50.com (and at Instagram.com/visit50)

Books: recently I've been mostly reading books about business and history. Recently finished reading Malcolm Gladwell's "What the Dog Saw" and Freakonomics. I just finished HW Brands' "Masters of Enterprise"(typically read a few at a time).

What I'm reading - Vox, The NY Times, The Economist, The New Yorker, et al.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Taking a half-year trip around the world, through 15 countries. That adventure included going swimming in shark-infested waters, hiking up a volcano, surrounded by monkeys, floating in the Dead Sea, snorkeling with massive whale sharks, being arms-length from orangutans, seeing baby elephants in the wild, and more! See the photos and hear the stories at http://Visit50.com/
