Hi! I'm Tomo!

I was a university student in Tokyo. I used to study education but I'm actually more interested in art and history. Or maybe I'm more interested in drinking and sleeping.

After I graduated, I worked at a recruitment company for 6 months, quit, then flew to travel around africa and the middle east. I had a GREAT GREAT GREAT time there and now my goal is to continue traveling when I'm still young. I founded a company with my friend so hopefully that brings me enough money to go abroad.

In my free time, I read books, do art, go to theaters, watch basketball games, meet my friends, etc. I enjoy both going outside and staying inside. The world is big so there is so much to do.

I am really looking forward to having a great time with you all. Traveling and meeting new people has helped me in a lot of ways and I will continue to do that till I die. See you soon!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people and have fun! For me, the best part of traveling is to meet locals and spend time together. I love hearing wonderful stories. I also like sharing my stories. And I am sarcastic.

(I do not view myself as sarcastic, but my friends tell me otherwise so I guess I am. I'm also Japanese so I must be polite. That means I'm polite-sarcastic. I just invented a new word. Congrats to me!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One day, I accidentally pushed my sister into the river. She started crying. At the riverbed, a bunch of salmon were chilling out. They got startled and swam away. I felt sorry and apologized to the salmon.
