HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

@ home: Rarely I host because I live with 3 other people. Sometimes I show people around or let them borrow a bicycle to see Santa Cruz on their own. Sometimes I'll meet them out for a drink. More than happy to give advice as well.
@ travel: Sometimes I am hosted, but mainly I like to use to CS to find fellow travelers or locals to meet up and explore their cities. I think the CS groups are an amazing resource when you are traveling and more often than not, I meet some pretty wonderful people through them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my younger days, I was very into music and would travel the country seeing some of the bands that I loved. This would often involve long drives and after shows, many times would end up at local fans place and either crash on the floor or couch. It was very communal and a great way to meet people. Now with couch surfing, it's much easier to have similar experiences with a much more diverse group of humans.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I don't awestruck easily, that being said - Niagara Falls for it's sheer power is pretty awe inspiring (the falls, not the city). Ditto for the view of Rio from Pão de Açúcar or from atop Pico (in the Azores). Yosemite is lovely as is so much of the state of California.
