ABOUT ME
Update, May 8 2012:
I live in South Austin. I've been here since 1993. I don't travel as much as I want. So, CS allows me to meet people from all over the world, while spending my days in Austin.
When I do travel, I like to stay with locals and my main goal is to meet new people and try things I haven't done before. I normally seek out the local art scenes and any small breweries, independent coffee shops, and small pubs or bars that have live music.
I like: animals/pets, beer, wine, scotch, staying out late, camping, road trips, photography, big parties, small broken things found on the roadside, PhotoShop, playing pool, disc golf and ultimate frisbee, iced tea, power tools, crunchy tacos, indi-pop, plus much much more!

PHILOSOPHY
Everything's okay...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
In 2008, I first hosted a few CS guests when another host was unexpectedly unable to accommodate two CS'ers. I have always tried to travel by couchsurfing and have let it be known just about anyone can stay with me at just about anytime. I have a personal friend-network of c-surfers. It made me want to finally join this site. Which I did in 2009. I'm usually available and open to help anyone navigate their way around Austin. If you stay with me long enough, I'll probably end up pitting you to work on all sorts of crazy projects.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far, I have only *officially* couchsurfed around the US and in Mexico. (Meaning, actually stayed with people in their homes.) I've traveled to the East Coast and I've met several nice CS'ers there with plans to meet for the "coffee or drink" thing.
If someone ends up stranded somewhere, I'll try to be available to give CS'ers a quick ride somewhere. And If I'm traveling somewhere by myself, I always look for someone to ride along.
I have hosted several CS'ers from Washington State, Philly, France, New Zealand, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Central America, and Australia. I have also stayed with a CS'er in San Antonio and Mexico. And I've gone shooting photos with some CS'ers in New York. I also had the opportunity to hang out with some CS folks in Baltimore, DC, Tanzania and any other places I've traveled.
When traveling, I'll typically look on the site to find other traveling b CS'ers to explore together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the more amazing things I've experienced was an opportunity to help rescue hundreds and hundreds pets and stray animals in New Orleans just after Hurricane Katrina. Lots of heartbreaking and spirit lifting stories to tell about that experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a woodworking shop and often let experienced people borrow my place for small projects. If you're inexperienced (and if I have the time), I'll help/teach with a carpentry or art project, Usually, I'll assist with a project in exchange for helping me straighten up my shop or get one of my own projects accomplished.
I'm willing to learn and help with just about anything if the offer comes along.
