About Me

Hi! I’m Lu. I grew up in northwest China, studied in England, lived nearly a decade in Canada, and now work in the U.S. as a remote software developer. I’m a lifelong learner (finance → self-taught programmer), a mom to a wonderful daughter, and a big believer that small kindnesses make the world feel like home. I was active on Couchsurfing years ago and met people who changed how I see the world. I’m back to reconnect with that spirit of generosity and curiosity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I met many interesting people via CouchSurfing community, the shared moment we had that became the highlight of my trip and life-long memories. I felt lucky that in my early age, through CouchSurfing, I see the world with a positive perspective, even a stranger cares. I highly appreciate and feel grateful for some couchsurfers who spent their time to host me and/or arranged a meeting with me during my travel--thank you!

In return, I hosted many CSers too when I am free, so far I think I have hosted around 30 Couchsurfers, they are all very nice and cool people, we all had a good experience.

More often, I joined Couchsurfing local events when I was in England and I made many international friends there. Some became my very good life-long friends, even we can't meet now, we still keep contact.

Interests

I like traveling, reading, exploring new local cuisine, learn different cultures, and hear people's stories.

Currently I spent most of my time on learning and developing Apps.
