I like to travel to different places and explore the culture, people and the genius loci of the spot. But I came to a realisation, that I kind of hate being just a tourist - not really knowing, which narrow street could offer some unexpected streetfood, where is the place the locals go to enjoy stuff etc etc. Couchsurfing seems to offer the unique experience of actually being a tourist lead by a local.
