Overview
About Me
I'm Egyptian born and bred -- but I spent the best years of my life in Scotland and I think of it as my second home. What can I say? Hame is where the heart is! 🏴
I'm a dentist by education but I quit clinical practice to pursue a career in dental research/academia. This led me to start a career in the field of dental education and work in multiple dental industry positions.
I love solo traveling as I find it's the best way to meet new people, make friendships, and be exposed to fresh perspectives, philosophies, and mindsets. I'm a lifelong learner with many passion projects, so I always welcome the opportunity to learn something new from everybody.
I met some extremely generous people on my travels, so whenever I'm back in Egypt, I like to pay the kindness forward by hosting fellow travelers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I first discovered Couchsurfing, it felt like I found something that I didn't even know I was looking for! Since then, I've hosted, traveled and stayed with many fellow travelers and I can safely say I've never had a bad experience.
I have a goal of hosting/meeting at least one person from every country in the world (gotta make that map ALL red)! So if you're coming to my neck of the woods, maybe you'll get a message from me.
Interests
I play the guitar and Irish whistle. I used to teach myself foreign languages in my free time, so I can speak a tiny bit of a few. I enjoy cooking and baking.
I've recently got into kickboxing and scuba diving which have been super fun. If you're into sailing or cruiser bikes, we probably should become pals!

Music, Movies, and Books
I mainly listen to and play metal, however, I also love jazz and Scottish/Irish traditional music.
I like those obscure/artsy/indie cult classics that leave you wondering what the hell you just watched!
I read whatever strikes my fancy; classics, philosophy, Russian literature and magical realism are among my favorites. Any fan of Tolkien, Jung, or Haruki Murakami is a friend of mine!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked the West Highland Way and solo bagged my first Munro, Ben Lomond, on the third day.
Sailed from Largs to Tarbert on the Scottish west coast.
Hiked and camped in Obsertdorf, Germany.
Solo hiked Großer Winterberg in Sächsische Schweiz, Germany.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some of the languages I know, guitar basics or cooking techniques. I'd like to learn about your country, culture and what got you into traveling.
We can work out together, play music, cook dinner, eat out, go to live music gigs, enjoy a drink or two, watch a movie, or swap stories.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm always happy to cook for my hosts. I realize some people might not have time but it's great when we get to cook and share a meal together.
