ABOUT ME

Well, I grew up in a smallish town, a suburb of Detroit, definitely a blue-collar upbringing. As I grow older, I have become less naive about life in general and more frustrated with the disparity between the upper class and lower class of society. Every year, I become less hopeful for the direction of government in this country (US), no matter who is in office. I'm realizing that corporations run the show, and a government for and by the people is a farce. That being said, I do have good disposition on the humanity of mankind and believe that at our hearts, most people in this world are generally good. It's my ambition to travel the globe to confirm this for myself and to see other cultures, taste new foods, meet new friends, etc.

PHILOSOPHY

We all are living on borrowed time, it's up to us to make the most of it while we're here on this planet. Life is too short to worry about every little thing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined because I heard through friend of a friend. Thought it would be a good way to keep my budget low while traversing the globe. But, while I'm still here in the US (and when I return) am willing to host. I'd like to build up as much good karma as possible.

Music is the thing I enjoy most in this world. No matter what has me down, I can always turn to the soothing sounds of melodies and harmonies joining together to put a smile on my face. A large part of my discretionary income has gone to concerts and festivals the past few years, and it has been money well spent. Other than music, I like sports, running, cooking, beer/wine tasting, hanging out with friends, and of course Traveling!

Big fan of Don Miguel Ruiz (Four Agreements, etc.), Dan Brown (Da Vinci Code), Rolling Stone Magazine, among others for reading. My Morning Jacket is my favorite band right now, but I like all music from Rock to Rap to Bluegrass to Electronic. Maybe an exception for a lot of the new music today (Bieber, Timberlake, Rhianna, Beyonce, etc.) I'm not going out of my way to listen to that stuff.......

Movies, love 'em. I used to work at Blockbuster Video (becoming an obsolete thing now) but ever since, have been big into movies too. Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorites, along with Tarantino flicks, Kevin Smith stuff, and stupid comedies.

What I have to give? Not sure, I'm full of useless information, but maybe in somebody's eyes it is not useless.
