About Me
*Currently traveling in Southeast Asia and unable to host at the moment*
Hey there, welcome to my profile! 😅 I hope this gives you a better idea of who I am.
My name is Ugnius, but everyone calls me Uga—feel free to do the same! I’ve just graduated from university and am now on my biggest adventure yet: six months of backpacking across Southeast Asia. I mainly use this profile together with my girlfriend, Gabi. We’ve been together for over six years, sharing countless amazing trips, surfing on strangers’ sofas, and hosting dozens of fellow travelers from the wonderful Couchsurfing community.
When it comes to hobbies, I’m always up for something active—hiking, surfing, or trying any new sport together. I’m also a bit of a travel-planning nerd and love hunting for cheap flights. I can spend hours figuring out the most efficient and affordable way to get from point A to point B. On the quieter side, I enjoy deep conversations about geopolitics (but don’t worry, I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, so just let me know if you’d rather chat about something else!).
I’d describe myself as open-minded, easygoing, and always up for a laugh (though I’ll let you be the judge of that 😂). If we vibe, I tend to open up quickly and talk to you like an old friend.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since I turned 18, I’ve been traveling, but for a long time, I rarely stepped out of my comfort zone. That changed in 2023 when I finally decided it was time for a real adventure—I registered on Couchsurfing. Joining this community has opened my eyes wider than ever before. It’s given me the chance to create unforgettable memories, from the best to the most challenging experiences, and I honestly cherish both!
Of course, Couchsurfing can be a more affordable alternative to expensive accommodation, but for me, the real magic lies in meeting locals. They’re the ones who can truly introduce you to their culture, way of life, and unique perspectives. That’s what makes Couchsurfing so special. This platform has already encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone many times—to try hitchhiking, to strike up conversations with strangers, and to do things I was always a bit afraid of. That’s why I love this community. I hope it will continue to push me forward, help me grow, and connect me with amazing people all around the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have travelled across Colombia in a car on my own, that was something amazing for me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
When I travel, I’m usually with Gabi, and together we love sharing stories and experiences from our adventures and personal lives. I’m always happy to tell you more about my country and its cuisine—and if we have the right ingredients, we’d love to cook something traditional for you!
We’re both respectful guests who always follow house rules and are more than willing to help out with any chores if needed. We’re here not just to find a place to stay, but to connect, share, and contribute to your home in any way we can.
