About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn Dutch ! I am currently on a 4 week intensive course in utrecht. I got it for free cos I'm on Erasmus and am going to study at the Universitiet van Amsterdam in september. So the mission is to be living with people who are speaking dutch.

ABOUT ME

I see myself as very interested, somewhat academic, keen to understand people and incredibly hilarious. Or at least somewhat hilarious. I like to have interesting things to think about and would love to be told I am good at prompting people to find thier own way to the solututions they need, new ways of looking at things. Cos I dont know!

PHILOSOPHY

Got an opinion? Or a question? Want to talk about it? Good. Put the kettle on. I've got time for it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By being a really spiffing chap ! nuff said.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well I've had many a body sprawled accross my couch for a week, its quite nice coming down to a transient exploiting my resources. Personally I've required the assistance myself a few times, though floor in a living room can get a bit annoying. Hell I've lived ina van and a tent for long enough before, what appeals is the transience itself I think.
That possibilities are hung so blatantly before you adds an immediacy to experience thats rather hard to beat.

Interests

Whats to say! Myths, storytelling, systems thinking, schumacher college, voluntary forest management, transition town, sustainable farming, I am a support worker and fancy my own website which is of course work in progress! www.tomofteignmouth.co.uk

Music, Movies, and Books

pop science. would like someone to introduce me to classical music?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A girraffe once, at a zoo whilst I was with my family ( no i dont have kids yet), chased a duck and its ducklings around until it eventually manged to tread on one of them. It was mad to see the tallest mfucker around trying, somewhat clumsily as you can imagine, to attack a duckling. Not quite sure what the duckling had done!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a little bit about a lot of things. I want to know a bit more about intellectual history, I want to know about the politics of self sustaining communities and I want to know about what the hell I'm going to do with the next few years. Combine the two ??
