About Me
Hey there. My name is Uli, im 31 one and I`ve been living and working in Berlin for the last 12 years of my life. As much as I love the big city with its numerous cultural possibilities Ive always felt drawn to nature and country life and during the last months and a long trip to Nepal I decided to leave the big city wanting to live a more simple, elemental life style again, being more in touch with nature and less distraction through digital overload. So now Im looking forward to going on new adventures!
Im very outgoing, openminded, friendly and trustworthy but can also be shy sometimes as it turned out. I am always very quickly infected with the spirit of a stranger and love to share travel experiences and long deep talks, but Im also very happy being by myself, anything thats suitable for the situation well be in together. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travelling is always so much more about the people than the place as such, so I think Couchsurfing is a fantastic opportunity to get to know a foreign culture or country this way. I havent shared my own place yet as I just started joining the community but hopefully will get the chance to host someone before I leave Berlin for a longer amount of time.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kind of alternative and indiemusic and stuff from the 80s also, but am always on the hunt for new music!
This is the spotify playlist im listening to at the moment, maybe that helps to get an impression:

I love all books from Irvin Yalom, Nick Hornby, Murakami, Jeffrey Eugenides and was digging all Wes Anderson Movies. Some of my other favorites series are "The End Of The Fucking World" and "Stranger Things" (only the first season though!) and I still love "The fabolous world of Amelie Poulain" even though Ive watched it way to many times as a teenager. Oh, and not to forget: "Call me by your name", went to the cinema 3 times!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I travelled to Nepal this spring and got very ill from the water there. But even though I was all by myself and felt very shitty I made the precious experience, realising that no matter where you are there will always be people around you to help. And if you find trust in that and the fact that you can always rely on yourself thats basically all that matters. I love the fact that you can find family everywhere in the world if youre openminded! And that theres always things to explore and discover especially in nature!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am always happy to share travel experiences and crazy stories about my very unsteady cv. I know that opening your home to a stranger is a big step so Im happy to contribute whatever will be needed for the time of me being around. I love cooking though Im not a star chef, Im good at acrobatics as I was doing it like a mad person when I was a child and singing is something Im very much into, I was in a choir for a long time and would surely be able to teach you some weird German hiking songs :)
