About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just living the life I want, having as much fun, and meeting new people

ABOUT ME

I'm working on the Kenai Peninsula in Seward Alaska at the moment. I can't host right now but I'm always down to meet up with fellow couchsurfers!

I am real laid back and easy going and love new experiences and meeting new people. I often get bored if things are too routine, normal, or I'm doing the same thing all the time. I thrive on variety! I am pretty outgoing and will pretty much talk to anyone whether they want me to or not. I can be quiet at times but usually its because I am up in my head-I am quite the thinker/contemplater. A perfect day for me would be waking up on a beach or somewhere near the ocean maybe on a boat! and then spending the rest of the day exploring, venturing, hiking, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, cliff jumping etc. etc. jamming and dancing to some music, having some brewskis with good people or friends, having some good laughs, making other people laugh, and just feeling good and alive inside :)

I want to experience all that life has to offer! I love being by the ocean and the coast more than anything-it is good for my soul!(If you couldn't tell already by the above statement haha) I'd much rather live on a comfy sailboat, tree house, cabin or tent in the woods, RV, etc. than in a luxurious or decent house or apartment. I am not sure where the road will take me next... but for now I am just trying to live in the moment! I believe that whatever is meant to be will be and things will happen and come about in our lives when they are supposed to. I thought I was ready to stay in one place for a little while but it turns out I just really love the nomadic and adventurous lifestyle. I never know where I will be but I try to take life as it comes and go with the flow. Better to flow with life than against it!

PHILOSOPHY

"You're not better than anyone, and no one is better than you."

"Do not follow where the path may lead. Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

So live like you mean it
Love 'til you feel it
It's all that we need in our lives
-Goo Goo Dolls

Live your life according to you and no one else. We spend a ridiculous amount of our lives working.... I don't believe we were put here to work, work, work... we need to get out and explore and really LIVE!

Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

Our concern must be to live while we're alive... to release our inner selves from the spiritual death that comes with living behind a facade designed to conform to external definitions of who and what we are.
-Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have participated in some couchsurfing events-bar hopping, hiking, hookahing etc. and I couchsurfed with some real awesome people. Everyone I have met through CS have been some of the most amazing people I have met in my life. I can't host right now unfortunately as I am pretty much in transit at this point in my life but I always love to meet up with couchsurfers whenever I can and host when I can!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing is all about good people and it makes me have faith in humanity and community! As Ben Lee says "We are all in this together." We need to stop being strangers and reconnect with each other. Too many people are stuck in their bubble and are too much about their own agenda.

I have nothing but positive things to say! This idea is absolutely awesome! I have had nothing but good experiences hosting, surfing, and attending CS events!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading true stuff that I can apply to my life... aka non-fiction. Some of my favorite books are The Last Lecture, The Four Agreements, and A Reasonable Life.

I absolutely LOVE music! I will listen to anything and everything, minus a lot of country! I really like a lot of acoustic music, I love rap and reggae beats, and I am attempting to teach myself how to play acoustic guitar and the djembe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camelback Mountain in Phoenix Arizona is AMAZING!

The Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness Area/Paria Canyon in Arizona/Utah is out of this world crazy awesome-I've never seen terrain so wild and raw.

Red tide in San Diego-surplus of phytoplankton in the water made the waves and water light up neon blue at night. It was one of the sickest things I've seen!

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I have a different outlook on life than most people. I feel like I am able to see that life is so much more than most people see. The lies and mind control that society feeds us is just ridiculous. I know there is a lot more to life and the world than doing the "stereotypical" or "norm" and working a 9-5 job, having the same routine for years, and staying in one place. The world is our playground! Lets go explore and meet some awesome people along the way!
