About Me

Hi! I’m Uzair, currently working as a VLSI engineer at Broadcom in Bangalore. I’m originally from Lucknow and moved for work recently, so I’m still exploring the south and absolutely loving the cultural mix here.

I’m generally an ambivert, quiet when I’m absorbing things, cheerful and energetic when I’m with people I connect with. I care about hygiene, respect personal space, and I get along easily with people from different backgrounds. I don’t really believe in religious boundaries; good people are good people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hotels are fine, but they don’t really tell you anything about a place. I’ve been inspired by Anthony Bourdain’s way of travelling which is understanding cities through the people who live there. I want to experience how locals think, eat, and live, and not just visit the main tourist spots.

I want to hear how life feels in a place, not just see it.

Interests

  • nightlife
  • bonfire nights
  • local food and street places
  • history and old cities

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a lot of ghazals and indie music. I don’t chase mainstream charts but I love anything soulful and poetic. Movies with travel, culture and strong stories interest me more than big action stuff. I really enjoyed reading The Alchemist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once randomly decided to take a short solo trip to Mysore just to explore the history and food there. No plan, no bookings, just walked and asked locals what to do. Still one of my favourite memories.
I’d love to learn about local Pondicherry culture and hidden food places. Also, happy to help kids with basic maths or science if you’re into volunteering.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my hometown food stories, my engineering journey, and plenty of “north vs south India” experiences I’m still collecting

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook chicken pretty decently, and I enjoy trying local spices and cooking styles. I love dogs so totally comfortable if hosts have pets.

We’re three friends travelling (all male, college mates and colleagues now), reaching on 31 December and leaving 2 January. We are respectful, easygoing, clean, and absolutely excited to celebrate New Year somewhere meaningful with locals instead of a commercial party.
