Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I mostly host nowadays. I need to surf sometime soon! COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I've hosted and surfed and met many beautiful members of the couchsurfing community, had wonderful experiences. One of my most memorable surfing experiences was staying with Laura and Daniel in Boulder, CO. They let us crash their camping trip and we drove into the mountains and camped near a ski resort town in the summer. We took a dip in Strawberry Springs and stayed after dark for the adult swim! Oh la la! So much fun ;) One of my most memorable hosting experiences was hosting two fellows from Canada. They were in town during Fiesta in April and they genuinely embraced San Antonio and our fabulous celebration! We had so much fun with them because their enthusiasm for life and traveling was infectious !
Music, Movies, and Books
Oryx & Crake by Atwood all the music has at least something to offer. Good Will Hunting, The Italian Job, Arrested Development
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I sang opera in Italian and German with other Americans, Chinese, and Taiwanese for an audience in China. I was an extra in a zombie movie with some friends and locals from a small town in South Texas. That was a wonderful, long night with lots of fake blood, dry ice, and zombie groans. The obligatory late-night Whataburger run on the drive back to SA with our zombie makeup was quite interesting. I regularly see children I teach get excited about music and making music with others. Once they've let go of inhibitions and let themselves explore, they are capable of great things and it's wonderful.
Teach, Learn, Share
People are a work in progress. I am not afraid to admit that I still say stupid things that I immediately wish I could take back. I guess I thought that as an adult I thought I would not experience this anymore, but I do. For this reason, I hope people are patient with me and I try my best to do the same. Can also share some fantastic paleo recipes.
What I Can Share With Hosts
A good dish, recipe, paleo meal, an operatic serenade, offer a sympathetic ear, the way of the native Texan, and a warm body to accompany on adventures.
My Interests
music (yes, all of it), bbq, cooking, camping, adventure, two-steppin, biking, swing dancing, people.
