About Me
Hi there,
My name is Valerii, I am Russian and have been living in Rotterdam in the Netherlands for the 4th year now.
I am a professional physicist, and after studying the world for many years, I understood that the world is big. Now, I am into a great variety of activities, ranging from festivals and traveling to stand-up and cardistry.
I got involved in learning languages as well. I am very bad in it, but it brings me so much fun. I really enjoy hanging out with people and getting to know a bit about life at their homeland, views, and believes.
Maybe there are too many words, but in short, I like to make simple human connections, and I am down for everything.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people, to host people, to stay at people houses when I am abroad. I had no ideas how versatile this platform was, so probably much more.
Interests
Ah, more stuff to do than time in life, and it only goes worse with years. But what can be done if there are so many fascinating things in the world? Dances became my particular passion over the course of recent years, and cardistry has been my hobby during a large part of my life.
I am talkative too much. "Full-time yapper," as it's called here in Europe ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
I am mostly listening to metall, rock, and good hip-hop. I believe that Russian music is severely underrated on the world scene. French music is the reason why I am learning French. ABBA is eternal ❤️
I've read a lot of fantasy and sci-fi. The Witcher is an ultimate masterpiece, Brandon Sanderson's worlds are amazing, and Lu Cixin looks deep into things.
I am much more into anime than into cinema, but when I accidentally happen to fall in love with some movie, no one knows it. Mulholland drive is a good examlle
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Participating in International Ballet in Morlaix was a great experience!
Teach, Learn, Share
If you have an incaution to ask me about my work or science in general, you're risking to know much more than you ever intended. And if, for some misterious reasons, you have too much of a connection between your hands and 54 pieces of carbon, best know to the masses as playing cards, then I can teach you a lot 😉
I am genuinely interested in learning anything you can teach me. My destiny happened to be to study the whole life, and I am happy about it. Of course, I am particularly interested in practicing Spanish or French. Never refuse to know a recipe of a good dish because tasty food makes life better.
And as I said, I am down to pretty much everything
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can bring some food, help with cooking, and share a glass of wine or a board game. If there is some housework to help within the limits of my power, I will be happy to do it
